Shopping Italy - English version

It's time to tell the story about shopping in Italy. So you can manage at least two things at once. Holidays and shopping.
Probably there are people who have visited Italy several times, and there are people who may be planning their visit and cannot find enough information about shopping places in Italy.
We'll have a talk about the northern part of Italy.
Milan, the city with theatre La Scala, with world's oldest shopping Gallery of Vittorio Emanuele II in the city center with Cathedral square and Shopping center La Rinascente, famous shopping street Via Montenapoleone, the city for Exhibitons.
Seasonal sales are offered in July/August and January/February. But there  more things for people who like to save more money :) Shopping Outlets. Locations are obviously far, around 50-100km from the cities. I have favorites:
One of the biggest outlet groups www.mcarthurglen.com  - there are some in Europe, but in Italy I like places Serravalle and Barberino, those you can find on the web site given above. Serravalle is far from Milano for around 100km and Barberino is far from Bologna for around 80km. As well if you are going to Rome there are several too outside the city. And there is a new one in Germany near Hamburg opened in 2012.
The second  is www.outlet-village.it/castelguelfo/  - located 50km from Forli or 30 km from Bologna.
In the second one there are not so many tourists and it is even better for you, because there you can fing things of better price. There you can meet mostly local citizens.
And it is not enough with one day, better to book a hotel for two or three days. Thus you'll have enough time for shopping.
Easier and better to come with your own car if you live in Europe. If not than to rent and combine shopping with vacation. To see Verona, Venice, Florence, Milan and Garda Lake is your duty:) Italy is really beautiful country with its traditions and temperament.
Hotels cost around 60 to 100 Eur per night and it is 3* and if you are lucky with a special deal from booking.com then get it! Often breakfast is included, but it is not what we've used to see - real Italian breakfast a cup pf coffee and Croissant and again of you are lucky with a hotel, you will get a buffet with cheese, ham, eggs, butter and bread:)
